About Us

AKUGBE1 INTERNATIONAL came into existence in 2006 when a group of friends united to foster goodwill and
comraderie for the purpose of giving back to needy friends and families in diaspora, in Nigeria, and in the United States.

 Akugbe, simply, “Togetherness”.

In 2009, Akugbe1 became an association of great reputable individuals of unquestionable integrity, from all walks of life including Africa, Europe, United States and Canada, and its mission was restructured.

OUR MISSION:

(1) To uphold our cultural heritage and economic empowerment.

(2) To provide clean water to our communities in Esanland, Edo State, Nigeria.

(3) To procure educational equipment for distribution to schools and colleges in EsanLand.

(4) To support educational advancement of the needy and disadvantaged youths in EsanLand, with the resources they need to achieve their God-given potentials..

Who is a member ?

A member shall be:

a) Any indigene of old Ishan Division of the present Edo State of Nigeria

b) Spouses and children(including step, foster and adopted) of any indigene of old Ishan Division

c) Memberships also extend to the Owan, Ora and Etsako ethnic group of the present Edo State.

To be a bona fide member of Akugbe-1 International, Article ….  Section …  of the Constitution, requires not less than two-third attendance of scheduled monthly meetings of one fiscal year and pay regular dues as set forth in the Constitution.
